Description

The municipality of Ponga, Asturias adopted an official flag in 2002. It is horizontally divided white-red-white, with a seal on the center. The seal is the representation of the oldest seal used at the city council, called "Sello de D. Enrique III." It depicts an equestrian image of King Henry III of Castille and Leon ( Enrique III "El Doliente" 1379-1406), who gave the municipality their first privileges in 1394 and 1395. The inscription reads:

+S ENRICI DEI GRATIA REGIS CASTELAE ET LEGIONIS
